Summary: In which Glorfindel finally gets to dance in the rain with Erestor. In other words, fluff. But nice fluff. I tried to do fancier things with the prompt but they were not good and in the end I wrote what I wanted to read and it made me happy (and the recip seems to have liked it).

I'm improving, loaded this here before it's even two weeks old instead of 'oh, I wrote this six months ago'. I want to be more organised online this year. (I hope it lasts longer than the average New Year's gym membership).

The best laid plans and all that. The original birthday fic came unstuck (a polite way of saying muses became bloody minded) and rather than force out something flat and contrived, I let it go and wrote this instead. The style pulled and was uncomfortable, but the right hair, like the right clothes, were a necessary evil. Outside the sun had sunk behind the mountains and the sky was deep azure sliding into indigo. The first stars would soon be heralded by bells across the city chiming Star-rise, and he thought he could hear the singing of bearers as the first curtained litter was brought up the hill and entered the courtyard on the far side of the house.
