Oh good heavens, today I wrote almost 1,000 words of Turgon thinking. I mean, Turgon? I have no idea what the inside of my head will look like after another three weeks of B2MeM.

(I also wrote E/G almost-sex, which was like stopping off home for a hot shower and a bite to eat before plunging back out into the wide, cold world.)

(and the maglor AU continues, though we don't talk about that because we don't understand it)

I'm having fun though. I think.

Oh, these sound like great pieces. I look forward to reading the Turgon one because I have a very hard time getting inside of his head. I managed to find some sympathy for him in a story I wrote about him at around human-age 8 or 10. That strained me a bit. I have several fics based on the prompts in progress also.

I'd expected Turgon to give up a double drabble, not bare a corner of his soul, lol. Though at the end I understood a few things better and yes, I felt sympathy for him. It was all very strange.

I have all these bits - some need editing, a couple are just outlines, one's something I've wanted to write for a while so it's waiting for a quiet evening when I can give it the attention it deserves,

See - I would rather be in Aegnor's mind. He is odd and eccentrical. Turgon does not seem that fun to me. Intense and depressed is the likely state of his mind and somewhat messianic.

This was long before Gondolin, and I found him sympathetic - there were things I hadn't considered before. I'm afraid Aegnor's mind would be a closed book to me, he's in the group I think of as 'other elves', like his brother Angrod, Feanor's twins and several others, who never stood out enough to pique my curiosity.

I read that line and got really excited, then realized you probably meant Erestor/Glorfindel. *g*

I look forward to Maglor, and even Turgon, oddly enough. I read and loved your Big Bang fic, btw - just haven't organized the thoughts enough to comment coherently. But I have to tell you I absolutely adored Erestor and Elladan. They were made for one another!

Oh, there's one with Gildor and Erestor talking about death *cheerfully* And I'm sure there'll be others too. Not even a third of the way through the month (assuming I make it to the end, LOL) The Turgon piece surprised me, I want to play with it a bit when I have an hour, and the Maglor is just strange (I don't even know where or when it is :()

I'll admit I'm relieved you liked Erestor and Elladan - I know you're busy but a little voice kept whispering in my ear, wondering if I'd done something to mortally offend your elf *g*.

Pace yourself, remember to breathe!

This is working because I need to do something every day to keep up and I don't have to show anyone if I don't want to :D I had a couple months last year when I struggled to put two lines together, just didn't really show because I was editing and posting Burning Bright. I started to think I'd never write anything again. I am, and you know you will.

I mean, Turgon?

One of the things I kinda love about B2MeM (at least, last year's and this year's, the only two in which I've participated) is that they make me write characters I wouldn't usually write. This is probably a good thing, even if sometimes my response is somewhere along the lines of really, brain? really?.

It's been a mix so far of characters whose voices I know really well and total strangers like Turgon who showed me new angles to look in from. And then there's Maglor, but that's another story :P I like the variety and the excuse to try things I think I can't do ---- after all, no one needs to see :D

Maglor. ♥ (I'm not the world's biggest fan of Feanorians, but there are a couple I like.)

Yes! I think that's the best part of it. It's not like a fic exchange where if you try something new it has to go public at the end. And I love that the mods don't force posting to claim stamps and whatnot - means I can fool around with words to my heart's content and still participate without stressing myself over posting.

Awww *pets Turgon*

I have no idea what the inside of my head will look like after another three weeks of B2MeM.

In and outside I'm afraid. It's been a crazy first week on so many levels... I promised myself I'd sleep in tomorrow to catch up with sleep.

But you know, this event has been surprising for me as well with the muse stampedes, finally making some more progress in my femslash stuff.

I need to finish wrapping up the Maglor & Fermini piece before I go back to the war camp of Napoleon... Yeah, crazy stuff LOL

Ooh, those muses are really making you work - that is so great!! And Maglor seems to be putting in overtime, which is always a good thing but specially now :D Sleeping in is good, clears the head so there's space for new ideas LOL.. I'm looking for a few quiet hours just to tidy up what I've written this far.

I totally understand your hesitation and fear about what your brain will look like by the end of March. I know that mine will be fictional goop.

It's coming out as such a weird mixture of serious, ridiculous, canon, AU, you name it, LOL. Still, I'm getting to fill in quite a few gaps and take a look at characters/situations I wouldn't normally think of writing about.

I haven't read an E/G story for ages.

So, what does Turgon think about?

From: [identity profile] keiliss.livejournal.com
Ahh, Turgon's thoughts will have to stay a mystery for now, I want to spend a bit more time with them, tweak a few things :) And - I realised while I was doing it that I haven't written E/;G in ages either. Felt good to go home, lol.

Turgon sounds good, and early Turgon sounds even better. Even in the stories in which he appears Turgon is so often not the POV character (or so it seems to me), and in Gondolin he so often has to be the person who must not know and cannot be told, which is a bit of a dreary role for him, really.
I am also very curious about the Maglor AU...

I met up with Turgon on the Ice and left with a very different picture of him to my usual. It startled me because I have no idea where it came from.

The Maglor fic's sat a few days, I left them in the middle of a storm on the way to some unnamed mountain fortress and he was talking --- he does that a lot. It's an AU of something I wrote a while back (and of canon in general) and I don't know if it plans on being 5,000 words long or 50 chapters. I'd prefer the former :(

I also don't know when it's taking place. Some time after the 4th age but how far after, I have no idea. Maybe if I work that out I'll know where the fortress is, LOL.
