Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've briefly interacted with and friend/follow them.
I subscribed to someone within the past few days so technically I've nailed this, but honestly? Being told to friend someone to fill a prompt has never felt right to me so I pretty much walk past this one.

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year.

Procrastinate less
Reply timeously to comments
Do not leave challenge fics till the last minute.

Yeah, I ignored today's, too. I talked briefly to a couple of people earlier about something one of them posted as a result of Snowflake, but why make a big deal out of it? I doubt I'll talk to them again.

It's always easier to friend someone than it is to take them off the list after a few weeks and have them PM to ask why... I learned that the hard way in the LJ days.

I haven't had anyone PM me after unfriending them, but I don't unfriend often. Though there is one person I want to… and I haven't because I don't want them asking why!

I actually ended up banning someone because of Snowflake yesterday; it was the second year in a row they'd given me a link list of things that were either only tangentially relevant or not at all what I'd asked for. Not exactly the purpose of the challenge, either in general or in specific!

Ive actually found a few people who have remained friends doing this one. I don't just pick a stranger but do choose someone I've seen around.

I do get the occasional urge for a bigger list, more active, but outside of Snowflake I don't run into many people I don't already know. These journal-based circles feel way smaller than they used to.

I'm totally with you on that. I still have the digital corpses of some people in my circle/flist who friended me for the sake of the snowflake challenge some years back, never even reached out to me or interacted in any way, but I can't delete them from the circle list. On the other hand, I happened to meet and interact with new people recently, so I consider this prompt filled. ;oP

*hugs* I didn't put "getting The Valley into posting stage" in any of my plans or whatnot for this year, to not jinx anything. Each time I planned this it didn't work out, so this must be the reason, right? ;op
*highfives* about 3,4,5 + 7 - that so goes for me, too! It's comforting, though, to read this or similar things on friend's lists, as it shows me I'm not alone with this. ^^

Honestly, I think we make it all way more complicated than it needs be. If we just got on with things - but life gets in the way, doesn't it?
