Day 3: In your own space, share a favorite piece of original canon (a TV episode, a song, a favorite interview, a book, a scene from a movie, etc) and explain why you love it so much.

Let's go with movie Tolkien this time. As Indy said, that first glimpse of Aragorn at the Prancing Pony, all hooded and mysterious with glinting eyes. That was one of the most perfect things in The Fellowship. Also that moment on Caradhras where Boromir had picked up the ring and then when he gave it back you see Aragorn relax his grip on his sword hilt. That gave me cold shivers.

I thought of picking an X-Files moment too, but I can't --- does the whole of Season 4 count?

Agreed, agreed!

That whole scene on Caradhras is so brilliant and intense. Gosh, it's gorgeously shot too. What a lovely character note too - you truly understand that Aragorn means business, and his loyalty to Frodo shines.

Aragorn. His reactions made this movie - all the movies. Thank you for sharing this moment.

The lighting of the beacons was my favorite scene in all the LOTR movies.

The 'Wood Elves' scene with Frodo and Sam was the one that captured me. I was hooked on everything Tolkien after that. The others were when Aragorn held his sword in front of him as he meets the Uruk-hai in battle and the lighting of the beacons. Oh my gosh! There are so many.

Damn, I just recently watched a video about how the choice of angles for that scene on Caradhras worked in the film. Now I can't remember where it was! But yes, totally agree with your choice!

Oh goodness, Caradhas. That's another great moment.
