Title: The Pink Flamingo
Chapter: 3/?
Featuring: Erestor/Glorfindel, Elrond, various OCs
Rating (if you worry about such things): currently pg-13. Later, who knows?
Beta: as ever, Red Lasbelin.
Summary: Glorfindel's posting to Imladris should have been straightforward, a way for him to integrate into life in the Second Age while giving Elrond some much-needed assistance. None of that took into account the proprietor of the local house of ill repute, or the presence of a suspected arsonist.

Well, this was an interesting installation of the story. Arson is such a nasty crime and people got hurt. I love these interactions between Erestor and Glorfindel. The bit with Erestor checking his desk for dust was priceless. :) Loved that part.

I also enjoy the conversations between Elrond and Glorfindel - the briefings that he gives him and all that. What he tells him and what he does not tell him etc.

Really enjoying this story.

The thing I enjoy most about writing the conversations between Glorfindel and Elrond is that I'm getting to see Elrond through Glorfindel's eyes, which I haven't done in ages, and I'm building a picture of him in my mind that way. This whole fic just goes its own way, and I follow on behind trying to work out what's going on and why :D I'm so glad you're liking it, Jaen. It's becoming my Happy Place :D (and you heard me whining about the prompt, so you know how unlikely that was, lol)

I actually did get a reminder from AO3 this time - and so I have known all day (which was surprisingly busy) that it was waiting for me - along with a cream cake in the fridge.

I've just devoured both together!

Poor lad being caught on the forked stick of 'client confidentiality' - and I love the way Erestor's staff are so trusting in him... and him alone.

I loved the comment about the dust. too.

I think this story and cream cake would go very well together. I must try it Sunday when I get down to some writing :D

Some of Erestor's people have been through a lot with him, trusting him is a habit they brought to Imladris and it's rubbed off on the newer staff, I think.

I get the impression there might not be much dust in the Pink Flamingo :)
