So glad I managed to do most of my SWG 10th anniversary cards because I have received such an unexpected embarrassment of riches. I'd like to thank everyone who thought of me - you know who you are (unless, like me, you're wishing you'd made a note of your list!) - especially the sweet person who accidentally sent me two cards (aww, I'm sure I did that at least once *hugs*) and all the anonymous senders who left lovely messages that have set me a puzzle I can never solve. Everyone who used Gil-galad cards or mentioned him --- my king thanks you :) And to the unsigned person who said "Because Burning Bright. :^) Love it!"--- thanks for some very well timed encouragement, darling *g*.

Final nod goes to Dawn and the mods at the SWG for devising such a special way of sharing the love! Here's to the next ten years!

I think that was me! As I've complained (ad nauseum), I have been very busy at work, so at the last minute, I tore through the birthday cards at a breakneck pace, didn't leave very articulate notes, and apparently forgot to sign some. But a) that looks like the emoticon I often use (aping Dawn's style from years ago); and b) I do love Burning Bright! :^D

I think it was my favorite of all of the SWG's projects ever. There have been some beautiful ones--rich in fiction and fanart--"The Seven in '07" one and the original 2009 "Akallabeth in August." But the feel good aspect of this one was wonderful.

It felt a bit like the Valentine's list Kenaz does. I could only do my cards last minute, which meant I didn't have time to send multiple cards, but I really enjoyed working out what to say on each one. We don't compliment each other enough!

I totally loved this, too, the only downside - if you can call it that, as it wasn't something SWG could have changed - was that some people I would have loved to send cards to aren't members. ;o)

You're so welcome! :) The funny--and good--thing is that this was actually a relatively easy event to run. Multiple mods (including me) have major RL stuff going on right now, so our initial birthday discussions were very much along the lines of, "What can we do that will be cool but not take a ton of time to pull off??" It's only been the past few days that have been rather labor-intensive, because we got nearly 400 requests in the last few days, and we also had 168 emails to set up and then send. (I actually blew a gasket in the SWG mod email last night because I sent more emails than allowed in an hour and it basically told me to chill the hell out and then forced the issue by not letting me send any emails for one hour. :D)

I think we will definitely do this one again ...

A lot of those 400 were us dreadful last minute 'oh look, she's extended the deadline' people, weren't they? *g*.

What I think is very cool is that you had so many emails to set up - so many people got to share the love! That's community.

About 100 came through on the day of the extension. A couple of people who didn't get to send cards did because of that day, so I was very glad I ended up doing it (mostly because I didn't have the good sense when planning to realize that, d'oh, I would be putting together the newsletter on that day and wouldn't be able to finalize cards too!)
