Does anyone else out there use the Thain's Book as a resource? If so, have you had any problems lately? For the past few weeks I've not been able to get on because my antivirus gives me a Trojan warning and blocks the site. I'd mail them, but to do that I need to get on the site and find the contact details. Any ideas?

I was taking March off writing and just playing with a few B2MeM Bingo prompts. HA! Haven't stopped. Feels like NaNo. *returns to strange Maglor fic*

I tried to get on for grins and was blocked by Google. The message said Google has detected malware and has already notified tuckborough.net that malware was found on their site. However, below everything is a link that says proceed anyway. I didn't.

Heh, thanks. It's good to know it's not just Kaspersky over-reacting (which it has been known to do) I can't believe there's a problem with such an old, well maintained site.

It's kind of swallowing my life right now :( I have this growing collection of strange little fics featuring some unlikely people. I wrote E/G today - it was such a relief!!!

Sometimes it's nice to write new characters... but it's always nice, too, to get back to the familiar ones. ♥

It's going well enough, for me. I have a couple of things that I want to expand into full-length fics, but I have a little bunch of experiments and/or strange scenes with odd characters that I think will probably just stay on my hard drive, heh.

I look at what I've got and I'm happy and then someone asks when I'm going to post them and I think 'Post them? Like this? Are you CRAZY?' LOL. So far there's two I know I want to polish up properly, the rest feel a bit self indulgent - but fun.

In Middle-Earth News, estelanui said that most of the site had vanished, but didn't mention anything about malware. I can't find the post to see whether anyone commented (swamped by B2MeM posts), but you could try PMing estelanui to see whether she found out any more.

Oh, thank you so much! That's really bad news though, it's been one of my favourite resource sites for years, I'll be lost without it. Just hope I remembered to save the info on Numenor.

Have you read this? (http://www.one-ring.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=266615&sid=d91403365b4d132b1ad283a9ccbca4b5), but works (http://66.226.147.59/about.html) without mallware warning, just don't click on home. It's possible that the index.php/html/htm is hacked.

I read the comments then opened your link in sandpit mode, opened the full index and looked at a couple of pages. Bitdefender, (so glad I ditched Kaspersky and reinstalled this) which refuses to let me on the site through the front door, registered all the pages as clean. Must just be the Home page, yes.

I hope they can get it fixed, it's a marvellous site.
