happy post
Apr. 22nd, 2009 22:50Let's see… Waited to vote till around dinner time when it would be quiet, and it took us less than ten minutes. Election went well, no drama, although a few voting stations ran out of ballot papers at one stage - planning, heh *eye roll*. And of course, people wandered in at the last minute because this is South Africa, we leave everything till the last minute.
After we finished we went to pick up a few things at the shop. Flower seller lady who hasn't been around for a while was outside, we chatted a little, she told hubby to pick out a bunch of roses for me, her gift… so I have lovely yellow roses.
Then I got home, had dinner, came online to relax and look around, and found that (only a little late *g*)
red_lasbelin posted my birthday pressie at last!!!! It's an Erestor/Glorfindel fic titled The Look of Love --- HERE. Go read, it is GORGEOUS! Go read, go comment. Please? It's that rare thing, a rather unique E/G story, wonderfully sensual, richly textured, and will make you smile almost a much as it made me smile.
I've had a really good day :)

Date: 2009-04-23 21:26 (UTC)We have the vote about half counted now, but of course I live in the most closely contested province and they're having computer glitches and we won't get the final result here till tomorrow. However - it all went extremely well everywhere. The ANC of course has a huge majority nationally, it's mainly a matter of seeing how big and how the rest of the vote got shared out amongst the other parties. It's lovely that there's been a huge turnout though - no one can say this isn't the voice of the majority :)
Take care, dear.
