Borrowed from several on my flist.

It always feels good to be able to tell friends what you think makes them special, so...

If you leave your name to this post, I will

1. tell you something I enjoy about your creativity
2. tell you something I appreciate about your communications with me
3. tell you what is most original, unique or special about your lj presence

1) Oh I could go on and on about your creativity, lol, but you've heard most of it already. I am in awe of your versatility and the truly twisted brilliance of your imagination. (Even if you do have a strange approach to commas :|) And you wrote my all time feel-good fic! 2) I enjoy your comments on my posts - they're always clear, insightful and warm. And the emails you send me after a beta. 3)You clearly care about people and always let them know you've read their post/fic/whine at the world. You add so much to the general lotr lj community by reaching out like that.

How wonderful! What lovely comments! I do have a strange approach to commas and I really do need to bone up on them. I think I am better than I used to be but I still fail with them. Maybe it is Freudian hehehehehe!

I am really please you loved Otters of Imladris and that it makes you feel good. That is quite a feat for any one.

#3 - blush!

Now let me do the same for you:

1. When I see that you have written a fic I know that it will be intelligently written and will draw me in. You are one of the people I would like a Slashy Santa fic from. That would be a gift indeed.

2. I enjoy our emails and your comments always leave me happy for the rest of the day. You are very generous in your praise when betaing and I like the additional comments you make during the story as they make me laugh.

3. I think you care about people too. I think you care deeply about injustice, because of some of your posts, and I think you are not afraid to express what you think. What I find most special about you is your kindness and willingness to help, we are all lucky to know you.

1) Thank you - and I think I'd enjoy a request from you, they're always just a tiny bit off the wall :D
2)I'm glad you like the gratuitous comments, lol. I love working with you.
3) Thank you *blushes*

*hugs you*

You need patting? I think you are an imaginative writer with a very clear grasp on the personalities of the characters you write, and that if you got over yourself and just -
wrote
- you would surprise yourself. And you have a wonderful eye for flawed ideas and inconsistencies, which makes you a great beta. 2) heh. Okay, no idea what to say there. You have great patience for rants *blushes*, you are the Voice of Calm Sanity (or whatever it is), and we share a sense of the ridiculous, which is a very precious and important thing. 3) your LJ presence? *falls around laughing*. But it's improving, dear.

LOL - of course you count.

1) I haven't known you long, but I was totally blown away when I went on your journal and started reading your fiction. I obviously don't get around much, because I've not seen your work before and it is amazing! Warm, imaginative, with well-drawn characters - the kind of stories I've been complaining you don't find much any more - and the humour is really funny. 2 + 3) Can't comment on your lj presence yet, but I can say I'm glad we've met and I really look forward to getting to know you better. And your comment on my letters series left a huge smile on my face.

Keiliss...you have made me feel as if all the time I've been angst-ridden over trying to write quality stories has been worth every minute...You have no idea how much it means for you to say such nice things. I've not been much of a presence out on the various sites yet, but hope to start posting on a regular basis. Any good places you can recommend would be greatly appreciated! Again, thank you...wow.

……. I really thought you had returned to Tolkien after a break and I couldn't work out how I could have missed you before. You tell good stories really well!

Places to post… I don't know where you've looked so far, but how about Lord of the Rings Fanfiction http://www.lotrfanfiction.com/index.php?skin=Light&PHPSESSID=6f20bad8cb152100cee813015a33603e (lord, that's a long link). If you have a Yahoo ID, there's LOTR Adult Fiction http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LOTR_Adult_Fiction/
and for fics with Erestor as a main character there's Erestor Lovers http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Erestor_lovers/. Neither is anywhere near as busy as they once were, but when the pre-release hype for The Hobbit starts in earnest that might well change.

And of course livejournal is a great place to meet other people writing in the fandom :)

*hugs*

Hey sweetie :) 1) You write from your heart and it always shows. You like to experiment, you like to try new things, not just stick with one idea, character or even genre - I like that very much :) Also like the way you have icons to go with the fics, lol - sort of ties to the way you've made our game look and run so well. 2) Aww, I love those late night talks about the state of the world, family, life generally. They're a very special pleasure and well worth staying up past a sensible hour for. 3) Your kindness and your enthusiasm.

1) I like that you try to write real people, real situations, which means there are places and emotions I can picture or identify with. You have very strong visions of the stories you choose to tell, which is something I admire. You like playing with words, you're not interested in the current idea that pares everything down as far as possible and outlaws adverbs and adjectives as though they are devil-inspired. 2) those endless emails that go back and forth, with each new round colour-coded… And the way we can analyse and build up ideas and concepts 3) Your journal has sparked some really interesting exchanges of opinion and sharing of thoughts - things that create a sense of community.

You've said a lot here and all of it surprising, except the not-pared words. Thank you.

1) You are one of the loveliest writers in the fandom, you always manage to find a different angle that might not have occurred to anyone before. Your Glorfindel in Crumbling Walls is still the one I most wish I had written - I am deeply in love with him. It's about time you took the idea of writing original fiction more seriously. 2) I love talking writing with you, but it's a long time since I thought of you as purely a fandom friend - I really enjoy the fact that you share so much about your life with me. One of my regular regrets is that we no longer get to talk as much as before - though the baby pics almost make up for it :) 3)What you add to the lj community? Sweetie, come back and be a part of it and I'll answer that question, lol. You are very much missed.

*hugs you*
