Finally heard from[livejournal.com profile] red_lasbelin after days of silence. Their electricity and internet both went out on the weekend, electricity's back on though no one's sure for how long, internet ---- 2 to 5 days they were told, which means whenever the company gets to it :D We were talking when she went offline, so I figured it was a power outage, but still - nice to have that confirmed.

She's catching up on her reading :D.

I'm glad she's safe and sound and that all the essential utilities are coming back, albeit slowly! Hooray that you were able to hear from her. And also hooray for books and things during such events!

It sounds like they've been managing okay - and, as she said, at least they have food, water, beds to sleep in.

I'm glad to hear that she's okay. According to the newspaper today, they had some scary winds down that way.

What she's described sounds quite frightening. She said that the smaller towns seem to be sorting out problems like electricity much faster than the big cities, which figures - though there are concerns about the water supply and they're boiling the drinking water.

Got mail - she's hoping they'll have internet by the weekend. It sounds as though it was really bad there.
