1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
Tasted crocodile meat.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
No and no – I have a sort of year goal, but it’s not a resolution.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Well, Steph did – in rl, people I know, but no one close.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No one close, no

5. What countries did you visit?
Ha! I should have the money.

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
Time.

7. What dates from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Hon, I don’t do dates.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Seventeen chapters of Doubt, and still writing. No really, never, ever thought I could do that.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I didn’t have any spectacular ones, sorry.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing interesting.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Estee Lauder mascara

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
S.A. constitutional court approving gay marriages.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Guess this isn’t the place for a quick overview of who’s who in S.A. politics, so let’s move on.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Oh god, if only I could work that out!

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
One day I opened Photoshop and found I finally sort of vaguely understood how it worked.

16. What song will always remind you of 2005?
Cool - Gwen Stefani – long story.

a) happier or sadder?
About the same

Don’t get personal

c) richer or poorer?
Poorer – I’m always poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Explored outside of my comfort zone

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Allowed things that don't directly affect me to irritate me.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Quietly with family – the best way.

21. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?
It’s between my closest girlfriend and my cousin, the other black sheep of the family (and we turned out better than the good girls – well, more interesting anyway)

22. Did you fall in love in 2005?
My husband would so have not liked that

23. How many one-night stands?
*snorts* see above

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Um – no, no real favourites – there’s a local soap I love but…

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don’t do hate. It’s self destructive and always turns back on you and bites you.

26. What was the best book you read?
I re read To Kill a Mockingbird and nothing else I read compared to it.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Oh I wish there had been one, but this was a pretty blah year for me and music

28. What did you want and get?
A new keyboard – the letters had worn off the old one. Gave a whole new meaning to touch typing.

29. What did you want and not get?
Hot, naked elves who would find me irresistible.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I don’t think I had a favourite – that’s rather sad.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 28. I’ve been 28 for quite a while now. It’s a good year.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More time with my man

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
LOL! I have a black shawl and a red shawl, long skirts and jeans.

34. What kept you sane?

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I went a bit off hero worship this last year, but I still love Johnny Depp.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Globalization.

My mom.
