keiliss: (me - by icon_goddess)
[personal profile] keiliss

I love friends whose journals are full of little comments about life, interesting posts about books and ideas and suchlike - people who open a corner of their world to me. I tend to be a bit disappointed when someone posts nothing but memes. I don't think I'm the only one to feel like this. So - um, sorry. My last seven posts have all been some kind of meme *cringes, blushes scarlet*

I'd write a nice, full, interesting post if I had one in me, but other than a rant about highly effeminate elves - opinions well known to anyone who knows me and therefore boring - I have nothing much to say tonight. Just - hey, I've realised this is a waste of a journal. I need to start actually writing stuff in it - other than Doubt, I mean.

I know what you mean... sometimes it's nice to know a little about the person besides what the silly memes say.
So... I hope you're doing well, and life is going great! How's the weather where you're at? *grin* And if you're ever curious more about me aside from what you see posted on my nikkiling2 lj, you're always welcome to look at [livejournal.com profile] nikkiling Less memes and more craziness! Lol

Yes, dear, and it is the epilogue I am waiting for. And, yes, I know that feeling too damn well. Come talk to me later if it'll help. Just pushing ideas around with someone usually gets it flowing again.

And you should poke Enis with extreme caution. She's sweetness itself but she takes no nonsense *grins*

Enis--(smiles prettily--it...it.. was a nice little poke and nudge!) grins!

I understand what you're saying here; I'm afraid I've been posting more memes in my journal than anything else, so I'm one of those 'guilty' people who has been using her journal for that, and nothing more. However, I always feel I have nothing to write about, and that what I do write isn't particularly interesting. As for posting fics - one day, I will do that again, once I actually sit down and write. I, too, will try and make a concerted effort to putting more things into my journal (says she who just posted another meme *sighs*)...

Lol - another one. And I like your occasional personal posts, by the way, but I know what you mean. I look at my day - did some shopping, yelled at kid to tidy room, finished the ice cream when no on was looking - and no, no one would be interested in reading that *grins*

Tell you what - why don't we start small? Try for one personal update a week? Short and boring if necessary.

Sounds like a good idea; I could always update on the cat if nothing else! See what I can come up with...

I know what you mean, its interesting to read about what people have to say as well, learn about the actually people behind the lj. i must say that i pretty much only do meme's, i'm not really very good at writing about me lol, but i enjoy talking if we ever actually managed to get on Im at the same time over the next year ;)

I checked your status when I got on - it says 'stepped out'. And I won't be here for long, gotta go make dinner. This is getting silly.

And yes, it's a nice way to get to know someone, but I know you don't really like sharing lots of detail about your life *hugs much*

Each person is different and if you don't feel like writing a personal journal it's perfectly okay. Most of the time I use mine as therapy and it feels great (and a LOT cheaper than the real thing). *snorts*

But there was a time when there were a couple of people in my flist whose behaviour really annoyed me and before we went our separate ways I felt very reluctant of letting them see what was going on in my life. There's a remedy for every ailment and a filter would have taken care of that but I'm lazy and kept forgeting to use it. In that time it was all memes for me.

I'm not saying that this is your case, but if you don't feel the need to put down your thoughts then you shouldn't and, although I would like to know more of you, I don't think anyone will be terribly furious or disapointed that you don't write that type of journal.

Hi Talullah. Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. I admit there are a couple of people on my flist who I wouldn't choose to bare my soul to - no one who's responded to this post, by the way - but I'm also dead lazy with filters and so when I have the urge to say something, I try to keep my comments less personal and specific and more general. And because that's not always as easy as it sounds, I don't do it all that often, lol!

And I think I've mentioned before how much I enjoy your journal :)

Sometimes I feel like I write too much personal stuff in mine but its nice to get other peoples opinions on things that are going on. I dont really have any RL friends here where I live so I love vicariously through my flist.

Plus you can learn a lot about people by reading their memes ;o)

I love your posts. I could never be so open online I think, but I love it that you are. I really feel like I know you and your family and that I'm involved in your life.

And you're right - some of those memes tell a lot more than you realise when you're doing them *grins*

Hope you're having a nice, relazing weekend, dear.

I know what you mean with nothing interesting to post. Sometime I just think my life is very boring and what should I tell people about it? And I´m writing my LJ in a foreign language and sometimes I can´t express myself in the way I really would like and so many things are left unsaid... but I LOVE to read other people´s journals.. when I have the time.. that´s it... sigh

Oh I love your jouirnal, I always read it, memes and all, lol. I find what you write about to be very interesting and it opens a window onto life in a country very different to my own. Never think you're boring :)

You shouldn't worry about what you write or don't write in your journal. I'm always worried that my posts are boring, after all who wants to read about my hubby kissing someone else in church? LOL As far as I'm concerned eveyone else has a much more interesting life than me, get up go to work, take kid to after school activites, cook dinner, fall into bed every day the same. :)

Lol, you live this really full day and then you try and write it down and you look at it and realise - well, it's not exactly EXOTIC is it? At least that's how it usually looks to me, and yet I enjoy reading about other people's unexotic lives... yours included :)
