NaNo: Sunday update

I'm happy with the word count. Minimum target was 6,800 words so this gives me a day in hand. It took a while to start getting back into everyone's heads (with hindsight a sequel might not be an ideal NaNo choice) but I'm feeling more at home now - Lindir's trying to hog the spotlight, Gildor's about to join the party and Glorfindel is in an awkward situation. Possibly two awkward situations. Now if the weather just cooperates and we don't have a heatwave or something (32 C on Tuesday, ouch!), it's all good.

My husband is trying to be supportive this time round. He asks things like 'Have you written anything yet today?' and 'Why are you watching TV when you haven't finished writing?' He would never dream of reading fan fiction, so it's unexpected and rather sweet.

It's been work getting threads straight and hearing voices - Gladdy gave me trouble, which is unusual - but I'm starting to see it. Eventually pushing out the day's words will stop hurting, LOL.

Oh, that's optional, it just makes the novel information look prettier *g*. I like the idea of giving the story a 'face', I guess. I used Moria for Burning Bright, think I need something sea-related this time.

I actually have been working on the cover a bit at a time, but concentrating more on my writing. That's a bit more important. Thank goodness it isn't a requirement since time is never my friend :-)

We were whining that spring was never coming because it rained and was miserable all last month. It's making up for it now. Past midnight and I'm feeling overdressed in pants and a t shirt :( I hope it doesn't go too high for too many days in a row, I really don't function well in the heat.
