I finally got Binky's SV fic back to her. Yes, sloooow beta reader right now. Point of the post though is to say it's the most interesting concept I've read in a while and her recipient should love it. Really great fic!

Now I need to go through Burning Bright 10 and see if I can post it tonight. Seen it so many times the words just blur together.

I have a concept, but I don't think they've ever survived the first attempt in any swap, so there's no reason this one will be different. I am probably in trouble, but I have this blind faith an idea will appear out of nowhere and everything will be all right. According to my schedule, I was meant to start yesterday, so it's still too early to panic :)

I have my protagonists! They were in the assignment. I have considered three possible locations: a beach town in Valinor, Lindon, second age, or possibly beginning in Rivendell and flashing backwards. Probably TMI even at that, but I don't think my recipient reads your blog.

I usually don't completely panic until I start getting emails from IgnobleBard asking me if I still intend to Beta his since he is almost finished and ready for me to read it and I haven't started my own yet. That is always a scary moment. My worst photofinish they call it in horse racing was the last Yuletide when JustAnnNow and IgnobleBard pushing me over the hump a couple of hours before the closing and then the website wouldn't let me post it! I actually made the deadline. (I have not pimped the fic yet. Trying to decide if I want to edit more before sharing.)

I have my characters and an idea I want to work into --- whatever it is I'm going to write. I can't say more because my recipient is on my flist, but that's okay because I don't have more to say anyhow.

My cue is usually Red reminding me there are ten days left, at which point I know I am incapable of writing anything with a beginning, middle and end and promptly have a Crisis. Be nice if this year worked better, specially as she probably won't have time to talk me through all the things I can't write.

Last time I did my usual 'write till the absolute last minute' thing and it was so late and I was so tired that Red agreed to post for me. My instincts must still have been awake because she had to fight with the site. I would probably have sat here crying at that point - I'm no good when I'm tired and technology turns on me.
