I should have done this weeks ago, as it is I've been in the import queue for 20 hours, lol. I didn't want a crossposting situation, which is why I'm still keeping my original DW journal separate and open only to a small circle. But this --- I have entries since 2004 and while I do a yearly backup, I don't want to lose it online.

Hey Kei! Are you going to import your lj? Is that even possible? Vaguely remember doing that once before, but it was to that journal site that is gone now - the name escapes me.

I'm leaving my kei journal as is and using this one as a back up to LJ. 'Import' falls under 'organize' on the navigation menu, but I've been in the import queue for almost a day now and new applications will take about 3 days, support says. They're suggesting people wait a while before trying. Poor LJ, the problem is on their end - it's usually quick.

The runour is that they're trying to freeze dissident blogs before the elections. If that's the case - and the timing makes me inclined to believe it - then things will settle down again after, but equally if it's true it leaves livejournal vulnerable every time someone on the Russian side upsets the Kremlin.

It's a bit like something out of a Cold War novel, yes *g*.

I'm not exactly sure what to do - this journal is used as a personal journal, and I'd either have to filter my entries and import and use it like a regular lj or make a new name...it's complicated.

I'd lock the earlier, more private posts, use this as your mirror journal and make a second, more private one. (I've already confused one person by having two journals here, lol) You could maybe even copy the older posts to the new personal journal and delete the ones on this one?
