30 days, 51,208 words. Made it!! I knew I would never get this written without some kind of pressure or incentive and figured NaNo offers both. I had doubts going in, it not being the ideal way to write a sequel, but somehow I seem to have staggered out the other end with a working draft. Thanks a million to everyone who cheered me on, especially my awesome writing buddy,
rhapsody11, who chased me and passed me and pushed me to keep going. You set a wonderful example of how NaNo isn't just about words, it's about encouragement, loving what you create, and sharing the journey. I could not have done this without you *hugs*
Busy month, but good because for once I used my 'me' time properly. I even managed a fic for the
lotr_community's November challenge and enjoyed writing it :) (still need to post it here and on the archive) I still have two and a half scenes of West Wind to complete (this weekend, if I can) after which there's continuity with BB to sort out before I can start editing. First though I have my Yule fic for the gen comm (and no clue yet what I'm writing as my original idea isn't right for this recipient), a gift for someone special, and before I do anything else, something for Binky's awards. Next stop, killer plants.
